ABOUT US

The Beginning

LMI Welding Inc. began in the late 1970s as a farm and oilfield repair and fabrication business. Over time, we developed strong expertise in design, welding, and machining—skills that allowed us to expand into manufacturing over-the-road hopper bottom trailers for hauling grain, as well as custom stock and horse trailers.

Seat Lift Kits

In 1987, we identified a need to raise the rear seats in Ford SuperCab trucks. This innovation became a successful product line that thrived for over a decade. Our seat lift kits were sold directly to customers, Ford dealerships, and Camping World stores and catalogs nationwide, reaching a wide variety of customers across multiple markets.

Early 2000s

In the early 2000s, we introduced one of the first ATV trailers featuring an independent rubber ride suspension—an innovation that quickly gained popularity among outdoor enthusiasts and ATV owners. Within a short time, production of these trailers became a full-time operation. Our designs proved so versatile and reliable that they were adopted by several branches of the U.S. Military, including a specialized trailer built for Navy SEALs in support of a key overseas operation following the events of September 11, 2001.

Wind Farm Projects

During the development of the Glacier Wind Farm in our region, LMI Welding applied more than 25 years of fabrication experience to produce many of the critical components for the project’s foundations. With the addition of CNC machining equipment, we were also able to design and build custom tools used in the construction of both the Glacier and Rimrock Wind Farms.

Aftermarket Automotive

In 2016, the aftermarket automotive audio industry began to grow rapidly—renewing demand for our rear seat lift kits. We expanded our product line to include lift kits for Ford, GM, and Ram trucks.

Our Legacy

Today, LMI Welding Inc. is proud to be the industry leader in rear seat lift kits—continuing a legacy of innovation, craftsmanship, and American manufacturing excellence
